Want a head start on the competition at this years Extra Life Fortnite Tournament? If so, this is news you should be excited to hear! This year Grimshaw Municipal Library will be hosting a SECOND Extra Life event, earlier in the year. During this event you will have the opportunity to compete for a bye in the first few rounds of our Extra Life 2020 Main Event Tournament. What's a bye you might ask? Well its basically a free win, but you don't even have to play! How's that for a head start?
Not interested in competing in the tournament? Well have no fear! This event is also a marathon to raise awareness, and money, for the Stollery Children's Hospital. So bring your console and TV, find a comfy spot we'll have to pry you out of 12 hours later, and game out! (Staying 12 hours, without moving is not required. We actually recommend taking breaks from the screens every couple hours to stretch, and let your eyes finally get some liquid to them).
Not the video game type? Well maybe our nice, relaxing HIGH INTENSITY EXTREME SCRABBLE MARATHON is more your speed. We also have other board games available to play during the 12 hour event.
Now for the finer details. The Extra Day for Extra Life 12 Hour Charity Marathon and Tournament will start on February 29th at 9:00am and will run until 9:00pm the same night. At 10:00am the Fortnite Pre-qualifier event will begin, with the first place winner receiving cash prizing, as well as two byes for the 2020 Main Event. The second and third place winners will also gain themselves a bye.
The Extra Life 2020 Charity Gaming Tournament and Marathon will take place November 7th, 2020 9:00am to 9:00am November 8th, 2020. More details TBA closer to the date.
